My favorite record in the last 5 years would be Jonatha Brooke's "Plumb".
The songs, playing, vocals and production are amazing, to say the least. Not a hairball on that record. She's excellent live as well. She's recording a new studio record at Bob Clearmountain's house in Pacific Palisades. I read a quote from Bob last year where he stated that he just kept playing her last record for MCA "10 cent Wings" over and over once he mixed it, because he absolutely loved it. This coming from a guy who is the guru of record mixers in the world. By dropping her, MCA once again proved without a doubt that they are truly the worst run label in the world.
